Nepal is een land in Azië, dat India en China als buurlanden kent. De hoofdstad van deze monarchie is Kathmandu. Een metropool waar elke dag ongeveer 1.000.000 Nepalezen de dag begroeten. Veel mensen zullen maar weinig weten over Nepal. Alhoewel... het Himalaya-gebergte zal velen bekend in de oren klinken. Nepal herbergt de hoogste berg ter wereld: de Mount Everest of - zoals de Nepalezen haar noemen - Sagarmatha, moedergodin der aarde. De droom van elke alpinist. Sagarmatha heeft al vele sportievelingen mogen ontvangen maar heelaas ook velen tot zich genomen.
